Job Description
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of enterprise BI reporting.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of enterprise BI reporting. You will use your expertise in combining data warehouse and BI tools to derive analytical insights from data and build scalable reporting solutions. You will create compelling visualizations leveraging best in class interaction patterns that clearly communicate insights from large amounts of financial data and drive business decisions. Moreover, you’ll sit at the intersection of multiple disciplines working to help gather and document reporting requirements to ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable. You will develop testing and validation plans to make sure data is accurate and results are consistent.

Some examples of the things you may find yourself doing:

Leading BI software development, deployment, and maintenance
Translating business requirements into technical requirements
Modeling data from multiple data sources to support reporting
Proactively make and justify BI technical recommendations
Identify areas of opportunity to automate, scale and inform BI tool improvements
Writing SQL queries and views
Implement dashboards from specifications and wireframes
Applying data visualization techniques for organizing and presenting financial and operational data
Creating technical documentation for BI tools

Key Characteristics
Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Articulate and clear in communicating process and decisions

Qualifications
Degree in computer science, data science, other relevant or equivalent experience.
A portfolio that demonstrates clear understanding and application of data visualization concepts.
Expertise with enterprise data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Thoughtspot, QLIK or ZoomData.
Familiarity with cloud data warehouse technologies, such as Google Big Query, Microsoft Azure, Amazon RedShift
In-depth understanding of database management systems OLAP and ETL framework
Proficiency in SQL and preparing data for visualization
Experience taking the lead on portions of a project

Desired Work Experience
5+ years of experience in BI programming or related field
Ambiguous environments or start ups
Client services or consulting
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Min of 5 years
