Job Functions and Responsibilities
This is a Release Manager:
 Own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects and Programs. Where necessary you’ll provide tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production.
 
Role Overview
The Deployment Operations Coordinator (DOC) role is a collaborative leader with strong technical knowledge. The DOC’s major responsibilities are to manage and coordinate platform code deployments, facilitating adherence to the release process, the code branching strategy, and reconciling overlaps and gaps to prepare for efficient and smooth releases. DOCs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive continuous improvement. In addition to promoting deployment alignment and visibility, the DOC is a change agent who pushes for process improvements within the deployment pipeline and provides direct support during code deployments for issue escalation, key stakeholder identification, and soliciting development and DevOps assistance. The DOC should be comfortable with Scaled agile (SAFe) methods, and able to work within the Continuous Delivery Pipeline to foster improvement especially on processes for continuous integration and continuous deployment.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 Facilitate code deployment and release activities
Coordinate across teams for deployment support:
knowing who can help and who should be informed
Obtaining assignees from each team for code deployment
Knowing the escalation process within each team
Escalate and remove roadblocks during deployment
Communicate and manage deployment milestones
Help drive continuous improvement on the deployment process

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of industry-related professional experience and education
Required: Solid background utilizing an Agile framework (e.g. Scrum, Extreme Programming, Kanban, SAFe) in software development, such as 2+ years as an Agile practitioner, or 2+ years as a scrum master, or 3+ years as a program manager
Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Experience with processes and tools supporting Agile methodologies
Experienced with DevOps and familiar with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipeline practices
Experience working with co-located and offshore teams
Preferred: One or more Agile certification such as SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or SAFe DevOps Practitioner (SDP)
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
